What is a pun?
A pun is a joke that plays with meaning, sound, or spelling. One word can point in two directions, two words can sound similar, or a familiar phrase can suddenly mean something new.
Why puns help English
Puns make language stick because they connect humor with vocabulary. They can help learners notice pronunciation, daily expressions, informal language, and the small surprises that make English feel more natural.
Not Punjabi-English. English puns, explained clearly.
Punglish is not a dictionary for mixing Punjabi and English. This site is focused on English puns, clever punchlines, and short explanations that help learners understand wordplay, homophones, idioms, slang, and everyday English humor.
What you can practice here
- Understand homophones and words that sound alike.
- Notice synonyms, double meanings, and playful vocabulary.
- Meet idioms, slang, and everyday English in a memorable way.
- Build cultural confidence without turning every joke into a lesson.
